Aldi’s heated airer, which instantly proved a hit with customers, is returning to its stores from this Sunday, October 9. The popular Specialbuy can be picked up just in time for the colder months as the washing line becomes redundant, although shoppers need to be quick to avoid another sell-out.
With rising energy bills stretching families’ finances, the budget supermarket's 230W Folded Wing Heated Airer offers a more energy efficient way to dry clothes. It costs just pennies an hour to use, making it much less impactful on monthly bills than a tumble dryer.
Priced at £39.99, it is 27% cheaper than Argos’ offering and 43% less that Currys’ heated clothes airer. Featuring 20 heating tubes that instantly heat up as soon as it’s plugged in, users won’t have to wait long for their clothes, towels and bedding to be dry.
The large foldable wings also provide plenty of space for clothes. The airer is versatile for smaller spaces, with its lightweight folding design enabling it to be easily packed away when not in use.
From 965 reviews on Aldi’s website, over half of those (546) gave it five stars while a further 174 gave it four. 75% of reviewers also said they would recommend the product to a friend.
One reviewer said: “I bought this a few weeks ago, so glad I did, [it] dries the clothes well and warms the room it's in, [I] didn't need to put [the] heating on so [a] great saving.” Another added: “Bought this as an economical way to dry our clothes & I’m not disappointed. Very efficient, just keep moving the clothes around so they dry evenly.”
However, not everyone is convinced: “Although the rails warm up really well, I’m not convinced it’s the best thing for drying clothes. It only dried the parts that touch the bar even after a couple of hours and with a cover. You would need to constantly turn the clothes around for it to dry properly.”
