The budget supermarket giant Aldi has been criticised as customers who are not happy about their Bank Holiday opening hours. The retailer has told customers what time their stories will be open during the weekend during which the nation will be marking the Queen's 70 years as monarch.
On social media, the supermarket said that their opening times will be unchanged during the Bank Holiday. On the other hand, supermarket giants Tesco and Asda have both reduced their opening hours at their bigger stores and will close at 8pm instead of 12am on both the Bank Holiday Thursday and Friday to give staff time to celebrate the historic Jubilee.
Elsewhere, Lidl and Sainsbury's stores are following suit closing at 8pm instead of their usual 10pm on Bank Holiday Thursday and Friday. However Morrisons stores will be closing at 10pm like normal reports the MEN .

Aldi's post on social media read: "We're open for the Jubilee Celebration! Make sure you head down to get all your essentials for the weekend! Our normal opening hours will remain in place this Bank Holiday weekend."
Most shoppers quickly found an issue with the opening times and as a result slammed Aldi for not reducing their hours or closing stores to give staff a break and the chance to enjoy the Jubilee celebrations with their family. Customers were furious and they did not hold back.
Eleanor Keyes said: "Shame for the staff… not even bank holiday hours. Shame on you… hope it’s double time and a day in lieu."
Tracey Cowan also wrote: "How lovely would it be for people to get organised and do their food shop on the Wednesday so shops could close for 2 days so staff could join in with the celebrations."
Louise McLean wrote: "Aw give your staff some time off! Misery guts." Julie Edwards simply wrote: "Sad."
However some shoppers did point out that not everybody cares about the Jubilee, and that some people are forced to work Bank Holidays regardless of the Jubilee.
Mick Dixon said: "Not everyone gives a s*** about the outdated titular and completely useless monarchy. Let them earn a wage if they choose."
Angharad Jayne Walker pointed out: "Love everyone saying for them to close and give their staff the bank holiday off. They aren't the only ones working it. I work every bank holiday and don't get extra pay for it."
An Aldi spokesperson told Manchester Evening News: "All Aldi colleagues working over the bank holiday will get time off in lieu. We are very grateful to everyone at Aldi who is working this weekend to help our customers get everything they need to celebrate the Jubilee."
