Summer fun in the garden for many kids begins with a ball, perhaps a bat, and of course, the now obligatory garden accessory, a trampoline. But prices for these bouncy 'must haves' vary wildly.
There is also the question of which type do you buy? Do you want round, square, with netting, a ladder and then of course, how big would you like your trampoline? A lot, of course, comes down to the size of your garden, the age of your children, and importantly, your budget.
Aldi has rolled out a £64.99 trampoline in its latest Specialbuy offering. Made by Plum, it comes with a 12-month warranty and is available to pre-order now as an online exclusive purchase.

Racking up a 4.3 star rating out of a possible five stars, the trampoline has created a stir amongst shoppers with the product listed as 'selling fast' today, Monday, June 20. One reviewer from Nottingham said: "Very strong and sturdy, good price. The only problem I had was trying to put the spring on as the tension was too strong for me towards the end of putting it together."
Others gave it a five-star review with one saying: "Very sturdy. Three-year-old loves it." They added: "Great first trampoline." While a third added: "Good trampoline for toddlers. Bought this a few weeks ago for my son's 2nd birthday and it's the perfect size for him. Delivery was very quick. "
Several people commented that it was great for a small garden and many added that it was a good price, with one shopper adding: "Well made, easy to assemble & very good value". However, they did add that "This item took a long time to arrive and missed my grandson's birthday, however it was worth waiting for."
Aldi says on its website that the trampoline is suitable for 3-6 year olds, is an "ideal introduction to outdoor bouncing" - it has a lower-height frame for beginners, is an enclosed design and has a heavy-duty jumping mat and thick foam pads to cover the springs.
However, as always, there was a mixed response from buyers. One person said: "It's not the best, but it's ok for a small budget." Adding that it was "good value". Another added that the instruction manual was confusing. They said: "This was one of the most confusing things to pull together using the given instructions…I usually enjoy assembling things but this was annoying due to lack of written instructions and only confusing drawings. Even YouTube videos weren’t very helpful. In the end I managed to assemble it but not sure I did it correctly!"
