Aldi is getting into the Halloween spirit early by launching a ceramic dish in the shape of a pumpkin. The striking dish costs £19.99 and is a fraction of the cost of the market leader by Staub, which retails at £199.95.
James Martin is one of the celebrities who reportedly uses Staub cookware. Staub's version of the pumpkin appears to be seen on the James Martin Home Comforts slow cooking episode where he cooks up a feast of slow-cooked treats.
The budget Aldi dish can be pre-ordered online now and will be available in-store from October 9. The oven dish is part of Aldi's Specialbuys, meaning once they are gone, no amount of wishing will bring them back.
It appears to be great timing for Aldi's pumpkin dish launch. As temperatures dip, it is natural for people to crave hearty stews and soups, which may be even more fun to cook in the pumpkin dish.
Aldi expects its Halloween-themed dish to be an autumnal kitchen must-have. The budget supermarket anticipates the stoneware hot pot to be a hit with those who love whipping up comfort food including curries, pasta and chunky soups.
Available in a choice of burnt orange or elegant cream, the eye-catching dishes could also transform shoppers’ homes and make them autumn-ready. Place the entire dish filled to the brim with your home-cooked food, onto your dining table to create a pretty centre-piece.
Aldi’s latest kitchen item with a 2.2L capacity is designed to maximise deliciousness. It is topped with a golden pumpkin stalk which doubles up as a sturdy and stylish handle, meaning shoppers can be hosts with the most whilst serving up a treat on Halloween.
Bear in mind that only the base is oven-safe. The lid is not suitable for oven temperatures and should therefore only be used outside the oven for decorative purposes only.
Aldi’s pumpkin dishes are launching as part of their Winter Kitchen range. Other items included premium pan sets for £69.99, kitchen taps and heated airers for £39.99 each, and slow cookers and toasters for £29.99 each.
