Aldi launch unique Christmas tipple of mulled wine flavoured with salted caramel and mince pie

Christmas is considered to be a time for indulgence. It is perhaps the only time of year when festive spices of warming cinnamon, star anise and cloves are brewed and sipped in mulled wine concoctions.

This year Aldi are putting a spin on the classic mulled wine recipe. For the first time in the budget supermarket's history, they are selling a salted caramel mince pie mulled wine for just £3.99.

Aldi's festive tipple is an unconventional twist on a firm festive favourite in the UK and beyond. Visit any Christmas market and you will see vats of mulled wine being gently brewed, whilst shoppers clutch warm mugs of Glühwein or mulled wine.

Shoppers can recreate the Christmas market aromas in the comfort of their own home for less than £4, with Aldi. That way people don't even need to leave the house and can enjoy all the magic of Christmas markets in their PJs whilst hunkering down on their couch.

Blending rich red berry fruits with sweet fig, Aldi's naughty but nice drink could be one to sweeten up guests this festive season. Expect the usual Christmas spices of comforting cinnamon and fragrant nutmeg, plus the avant garde addition of heady salted caramel.

The drink could also be godsend for those who want to try something different and also those who are prone to procrastination. If you can't make up your mind between satisfying your craving for salted caramel, a warm mince pie or good old mulled wine, then this Aldi version could be your go-to tipple this Christmas.

Other Christmas themed drinks from Aldi include gingerbread mulled wine (£3.99) and classic mulled wine (£2.79). The drinks are available to be purchased in-store now.
