A current Aldi employee has gone viral after he offered some inside knowledge on Special Buys to anyone who shops at the supermarket. The budget retailer frequently adds new Special Buys to its middle aisles, but shoppers can struggle to keep up with what's coming in stock, and often find things sold out before they can manage to buy what they want.
But an Aldi employee has given his top tips on the Special Buys shoppers should buy now to avoid disappointment. Beauty fans, in particular, will appreciate the Aldi worker's advice, as it could potentially slash £100s off their usual shopping bill.
Taking to Tik Tok, Dylan, who works on the shop floor at his local Aldi, dished out his top tips on the items shoppers should keep an eye out for in stores. The Aldi staff member, who goes by the username @dylansreviews, compared some of the supermarket's own-brand make-up and beauty products to items from premium, high-end brands like Charlotte Tilbury and Benefit.
In his TikTok video, Dylan kicked things off by showcasing Aldi's Lacura Girl Gone Bad Mascara, priced at a purse-friendly £5.99. The product is a dupe of the more high-end Benefit BADgal BANG!, which is currently priced at £25.50 on the official Benefit website.
Also in the Lacura range is the Micro-filling Pen & Clear Gel for £3.99 which looks almost identical to Benefit’s £24.50 Brow Gels.
As shown by Dylan, savvy shoppers can also treat themselves to Take Cover Concealer, which is priced at £3.99. Again, this product looks uncannily like Benefit’s Boi-Ing Cakeless Concealer which would set you back £22.
Other bargain products include Lacura Healthy Glow Rose Oil for £3.99 as well as Lacura lip gloss, liners, and lipsticks, all for a very snippy £2.99. These lipsticks appear to be Charlotte Tilbury dupes, where a single lipstick will set you back £27.
In terms of skincare, beauty buffs can pamper themselves with a Lacura Purifying Pink Clay Mask for £5.99 or a Pink Clay Exfoliating Face Scrub for £2.99. There's even a pore cleanser set for £9.99. Perhaps most excitingly of all, Aldi is stocking a range of Lacura fragrances said to be dupes of luxury scents, each one retailing for just £6, says the Mirror.
This collection includes Dark Blossom, a dupe of YSL’s £108 perfume Black Opium, Guardian, a dupe of the £100 Thierry Mugler scent, Angel (£100), and Lady Pour Femme, believed to be inspired by Carolina Herrera's £94 Good Girl perfume.
Many of Dylan's followers have been thrilled by the very reasonable offers, vowing to head out on their own beauty hauls. One person gushed: "Oh I love the rose oil! I've been waiting forever and also the concealer is fab!" Another wrote: "Omg I’m so glad I picked some of this up before it all sells out due to your video."
