Aldi, Poundland and Tesco have confirmed plans to close all their UK stores on the day of the Queen's funeral out of respect for the late monarch.
Queen Elizabeth II's funeral takes place on Monday, September 19, at 11am - with the majority of supermarkets set to close on the bank holiday.
Tesco's large stores will be shut all day - with the Express stores remaining closed until 5pm.
Jason Tarry, Tesco UK CEO said: “We want to express our deepest condolences to the Royal Family, as well as our gratitude to Her Majesty The Queen for her unwavering service.
"On Monday 19th September, in order for our colleagues to pay their respects, our large stores will be closed all day and our Express stores will remain closed until 5pm.”
German supermarket Aldi will also be shutting on the day of the funeral - out of respect for Her Majesty.
Aldi said in a statement: "As a mark of respect, all Aldi stores across the UK will close on Monday, September 19, to allow our store colleagues to pay tribute to Her Majesty the Queen."
Poundland confirmed all 770 stores will be shut on Monday - with colleagues who were scheduled to work on 19 September set receive their scheduled pay in full.
Waitrose, Homebase, WH Smith, B&Q, Primark, Sainsbury's, Argos, Aldi and John Lewis have all said they will be shutting on the day of the monarch's funeral.
Supermarket giants Sainsbury's and Waitrose confirmed they would be shutting their doors - with Waitrose keeping a limited number of stores along the funeral route open - but will shut when the funeral starts.
Andrew Murphy, chief operating officer, at The John Lewis Partnership, said: “We are deeply saddened by the death of Her Majesty The Queen.
"We will be closing our stores on the day of her funeral as a mark of respect, and because we believe this is the right thing to do for our Partners and customers.”
A spokesperson for the John Lewis Partnership added: "When full details of the funeral are confirmed, an exception may be a very limited number of Waitrose stores on the route of the funeral procession to serve members of the public who we know will be lining the route for many hours. These shops will, however, close for the funeral itself."
A Sainsbury's spokesperson they would be shutting their stores "in honour of Her Majesty and so our colleagues can pay their respects".
The spokesperson added: "This includes groceries online and Argos fast track delivery. Our convenience stores and petrol filling stations will be open from 17:00 until 22:00 to allow our customers to pick up essential items.
"While select stores in central London will open to serve those attending the funeral in person."
Asda is still finalising its plans.
The Government has advised businesses that they may wish to close, but it is at their own discretion whether or not to do so.
