Aldi brings back £40 electric heated clothes airer that's 'very cheap to run'

Budget supermarket Aldi is bringing back its best-selling heated clothes airer and shoppers say it is “much cheaper than using the dryer”.

Aldi’s SpecialBuys often prove popular with shoppers, many of whom await Thursdays and Sundays to see what they’ll be able to get their hands on. SpecialBuy products have often included everything from hanging egg chairs to hot tubs - but the retailer’s Easy Home Heated Airer is always a popular choice when it comes back in stock.

Autumn is well and truly underway and the fight to keep energy bills down by not turning on either the heating or the tumble dryer is more important than ever. With many trying to keep their bills to a minimum due to the ongoing cost of living crisis, Aldi shoppers are turning to a cheaper alternative.

The heated airer has 20 separate heated bars, meaning it is big enough to dry sheets and towels. Once used, it can then be folded away after use to save space. The airer is priced at £39.99.

The product has racked up many five star reviews from happy customers on the Aldi website. One reviewer said: “My new laundry star. So happy with my heated airer, best purchase, low on electricity, good size, even get a cover, good price”.

A second wrote: “Very useful product. Great product. Easy to use and store as it folds flat” and a third added: “Heated airer. Really glad I got this now the weather is too wet to hand the washing out but we don't want to put the heating on or use the tumble dryer.”

A fourth excited shopper said: “Easy to use. I bought this to save me from using my tumble dryer. It works very well and much cheaper than using the dryer. Very pleased with it.”

Another added: “Very effective. Very cheap to run. My first use of it was with a full load of jumpers, hoodies, tee shirts and socks. Those sorts of items need a fair amount of drying.

“I left them on the dryer for 6 hours with the cover on and they were completely dry. The cost was 48p! Can't complain at that. My spin dryer would have cost three times that I reckon.”

Aldi’s Easy Home Heated Airer is priced at £39.99 and is available online now and in stores from October 9. You can shop the Specialbuy here.
