Aldi announces date shoppers can buy £2 Prime Energy cans

Aldi has confirmed when shoppers will be able to get their hands on a drinks can of Prime Energy - and fans of the beverage won't have to wait long. When the budget supermarket first began stocking shelves with YouTube stars KSI and Logan Paul's creation last year, long queues formed outside of various stores nationwide.

There were even limits put in place on how many customers could buy due to the sheer volume of people hoping to get themselves one. In some outlets, prices for the highly-popular drink soared, with some people forking out £12 a pop, or more.

Now, Aldi will be bringing the elusive drink back as part of its Specialbuy range in stores nationwide in just a matter of days. An Aldi spokesperson said: "Prime Hydration will be returning to stores from June 29, and Prime Energy is expected to land next week."

Shoppers, who are 16 years old and over, will be able to choose from six flavours - including Blue Raspberry, Lemon and Lime, Strawberry Watermelon, Tropical Punch, Ice Pop and Orange Mango.

All contain zero sugar and are vegan friendly. Unlike Prime Hydration, which is designed to be for consumed after exercise, Prime Energy is an energy drink and contains 140mg of caffeine, the ECHO reports.

Following the high demand for the drink the last time it was on sale in the supermarket, a purchase limit of one of each flavour per customer has been enforced to make sure as many people as possible get the opportunity to buy the drink.

The supermarket has warned however that Prime Energy, like any other Specialbuy, will be stocked in limited supplies. Prime Hydration will also return to Aldi’s shelves for the third time this week.

Rapper KSI has 24.1 million YouTube subscribers, while Logan Paul has 23.6 million. The official Prime Instagram account currently boasts two million followers, highlighting the interest in the popular drink.

In a statement issued at the time the energy drinks were first released on the Prime website, the two YouTubers said: "We’re excited to announce Prime to the world and showcase what happens when rivals come together as brothers and business partners. Our goal was to create a fantastic hydration drink that can fuel any lifestyle.

"Over the past year, we’ve worked countless hours to formulate the product from scratch, lock in deals with the largest retailers in the world, and build a multi-hundred person team to get our products to the shelves. We’re humbled by the process of creating a real brand & look forward to competing with some of the biggest beverage companies in the world.

"As underdogs, we always cherish the opportunity to show the world what’s possible. Now that we’re both fighting for the same team, we truly believe the sky is the limit."
