When it comes to beauty products we all have our favourites but when there is a "substantial" price difference for a similar beauty item, it may just be worth giving something new a go. This is exactly the thinking of some Aldi shoppers.
After spotting a £3.99 facial oil on the budget store's website, one shopper declared it to be "every bit as good" as some high end products that they'd tried previous.
The £3.99 SpecialBuy ‘Lacura Rose Facial Oil’ is described by the sellers as an "intensely moisturising oil". It adds that the product "leaves skin feeling soft and smooth".

Aldi’s Lacura beauty range is known for its affordable dupes of expensive skincare brands. One review read: “This is my 2nd purchase of this facial oil; I’ve previously paid a lot more for high end products but find that this is every bit as good as any of them. It smells lovely, my skin absorbs it quickly and is clearer and softer. I use it daily in place of moisturiser under a SPF cream.”
Another shopper also declared it "just as good as any expensive products." They wrote: " I first bought Rose oil when I was out in Bulgaria as it is manufactured there. I added this to my moisturiser and reaped the benefits of it. As soon as I saw Rose oil in Aldi I’ll I started to buy it. I have been using this roses oil for many years now . I keep a stock at home as not always on sale in Aldi. I have really dry skin and this an amazing product. I use the rose cleanser and toner. Just as good as any expensive products."
A third said simply: "Facial oil rose. Excellent value, lovely on skin." Another another added: "This is amazing! I have used many expensive products over the years and this is up there with the best!
However, another shopper had reservations. "Love this, although do prefer Elemis superfood face oil. However the difference in price is substantial. Am guessing it won't be as effective... but who knows. It still feels really nice on the skin, especially when mixed with my elemis moisturiser."
The serum, which received an overall rating of 4.8 out of five stars, comes in a 25ml bottle, is priced at £3.99. It is described on the Aldi website as an online exclusive and not available in store so if you buy you will have to factor in delivery costs, which is another £2.95 - that is unless you go on to keep spending and bump up your basket to over £30 for free delivery.
