Albany carjacker Shayden Eades broke into house, stole money then threw it from car window

A man who admitted to burgling a house and stealing a car from a woman in regional Western Australia has been caught on camera tossing thousands of dollars from the stolen vehicle.

Shayden Phillip Eades, 27, appeared in Albany Magistrate Court on Thursday via video link from the city's regional prison.

Eades pleaded guilty to 13 charges including stealing, criminal damage and failing to stop following the incident.

The court heard on November 24, Eades stole a red Hyundai hatchback from a woman over the age of 60 in the Coles Orana carpark.

Eades admitted to causing her bodily harm.

On the same day, he stole $3,000 from someone's home and also destroyed an oven.

He also pleaded guilty to attempting to steal a vehicle from Albany TAFE and stealing a GPS device from the Department of Water.

Eades drove while suspended and pleaded guilty to reckless driving.

He caused property damage on Albany Highway and failed to stop.

The police prosecutor told the court Eades threw items from the robbery out of the Hyundai hatchback.

The ABC has obtained a video of the incident and money can be seen flying out of the red car before bystanders rush over to pick up the cash up.

It is understood the money collected was returned to police.

Eades then crashed into a property in Albany and fled the scene.

Police found Eades and took him into custody where he has remained for the past two months.

He was driving while under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

The matter will next be heard on March 17 in Perth District Court.
