Alan Shearer believes Everton only have themselves to blame for their defeat at the hands of West Ham United as he blasted Alex Iwobi and Michael Keane for their 'stupid' mistakes.
David Moyes' side picked up a 2-1 win over the Blues in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon. The result further plunged Frank Lampard’s side towards the drop zone.
Aaron Cresswell opened the scoring with a superb free-kick before Mason Holgate drew Everton level with a deflected strike after the interval.

PLAYER RATINGS: Michael Keane and seven others awful at West Ham
But Jarrod Bowen pounced on a rebound to restore the Hammers' lead five minutes after Holgate’s equaliser. Michael Keane then received a second yellow card to add to the Blues’ misery.
And speaking after the game, former Newcastle United man Shearer was critical of the way Lampard’s side hit the self-destruct button. The Premier League great was also full of praise for Creswell’s opener.
“We said at half-time it was probably a little bit harsh on Everton, but Everton can only blame themselves,” he told DAZN Canada.
“A stupid mistake from Iwobi that costs them a goal and then another stupid error as they go down to 10-men. Once that happened it was just about seeing the game out for West Ham.”
Before Shearer added on West Ham’s first goal: “Sometimes, you just have to sit there, hold your hands up and say ‘you know what, that is brilliant’.
“You have got no chance of stopping that, whoever is in goal and however far across your line you are. You are just not stopping that.
“It’s just magnificent. We saw Ward-Prowse with one yesterday, from the other side with his right foot against Leeds. This was equally as good from the other side from Cresswell. Magnificent. Superb.”
