Alan Shearer says Anthony Martial’s days at Manchester United are numbered having failed to produce the goods during his stay.
The striker has been hit with injury this season and has failed to see out a full 90 minutes all campaign. He was left out of the starting XI in the 1-0 loss to West Ham on Sunday following a poor showing in Thursday’s defeat to Brighton.
Martial has scored seven times in 25 appearances for United this term, who have drawn a blank in four of the last six matches. Having missed more than 30 matches this season through injury and putting in several frustrating performances when available, United are open to selling him this summer with a goal-getter needed.

Shearer is less than impressed with the striker’s showing over the course of his United stay, which began back in 2015 following a big-money switch from Monaco. 294 appearances and 86 goals later, Shearer says it is time for the Frenchman to be shown the exit door.
Speaking to Premier League Productions, he said: “Anthony Martial has had enough time at Manchester United. You don’t need to make any big decision on him because I think the decision has already been made or it should already have been made.
“He’s been there long enough, he’s had enough chances. He’s not good enough to take Man United to where they want to be. If he was good enough he would be starting on a regular basis and he would be scoring goals. He’s had his time and it hasn’t worked for him, that’s my opinion.”
Meanwhile, the Manchester Evening News understands that United have decided not to make Wout Weghorst’s loan spell permanent after two goals in 27 matches.
