Alan Shearer believes Virgil van Dijk had a 'really uncomfortable' afternoon against Aleksandar Mitrovic as Liverpool struggled to a 2-2 draw at Fulham's Craven Cottage on Saturday afternoon.
Mitrovic scored twice as the Reds dropped two points on the opening day of the season. The Serbia international rose above Trent Alexander-Arnold at the back post to head in over Alisson Becker before Darwin Nunez came off the bench to equalise.
Mitrovic was then fouled by Van Dijk in the box before he converted from the spot. Mohamed Salah levelled for Liverpool, however, in the 80th minute.

And Shearer, the Premier League's all-time top goalscorer, said on BBC Sport : “I thought Fulham were absolutely brilliant. The energy that they showed. The way that they went after Liverpool. The way they played to Mitrovic’s strengths, in terms of getting balls into the box.
“He gave the back four a really uncomfortable afternoon and there are not many times you can say that with Liverpool, particularly Virgil van Dijk.”
Liverpool open their Premier League campaign at Anfield in their next match as they'll take on Patrick Viera's Crystal Palace side next Monday.
