Alan Shearer has taken to Twitter to celebrate Newcastle United's historic achievement of reaching the League Cup final for the first time in 47 years..
Sean Longstaff scored his first double for Newcastle inside 21 minutes to provide the Magpies with a three-goal advantage on aggregate, and a 2-0 lead on the night.
Che Adams pulled one back for the visitors before the half-hour mark, but Newcastle emerged victorious against another of Shearer's former clubs Southampton.
The Newcastle legend tweeted: "Telllll me maaaaa me maaaa we won’t be home for tea we’re going to Wembeeerrlleyy"

Newcastle have eliminated Tranmere Rovers, AFC Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, Leicester City, and now Southampton to set-up their first League Cup final since 1976.
They will face either Manchester United or Nottingham Forest, who play their second leg at Old Trafford on Wednesday evening. The Red Devils lead 3-0 from the first leg thanks to goals from Marcus Rashford, Wout Weghorst and Bruno Fernandes.
