Alan Shearer has described Tottenham as "weak as" after their disappointing 1-1 draw against relegation candidates Everton at Goodison Park on Monday night.
Spurs, who parted company with manager Antonio Conte during the international break, were expected to win after Abdoulaye Doucoure was sent off in the 58th minute for lashing out at Harry Kane. The England captain then scored a penalty moments later.
From there, Tottenham should have strolled to victory. Yet a shocking tackle by Lucas Moura on Michael Keane saw the Brazilian dismissed before Keane punished Spurs. The Everton defender hit a stunning long-range effort in the 90th minute to salvage a point.
Tottenham have jumped into fourth, level on points with Newcastle in third and Manchester United in fifth. Both of those teams, however, have two games in hand on Cristian Stellini's side. As such, Monday night's result must be viewed as poor one for Spurs.
Shearer certainly wasn't impressed. The Newcastle legend tweeted, "Brilliant comeback from Everton and deserved at least a point. Spurs weak as."
Tottenham's acting manager Stellini faced the music after the game. He told Sky Sports, "My feeling now is that we have lost two points this evening because with 11 men against 10 we have to control the game much better. We try to but not the way I expect.

"After our red card the power of the game was with them. They find an amazing goal and they draw the game. We have to do much better.
"We tried to press them to not give much possession away but if you do this they kick long. We have to win the second balls and start again. We didn’t do good in possession. You control the game with the ball, not without.
"We have to control the game much better with the ball. We know when they play they kick long and they fight for the second ball. We were ready to do it but with 11 men we have to control the game much better."
Stellini was asked by the BBC if Tottenham can still finish in the top four. He replied, "We are confident because we have a big squad with good players. Now we have a week to prepare for the next match. We are confident, absolutely."
Everton, meanwhile, are now 15th in the table, one point clear of the relegation zone. Remarkably, just seven points separate Crystal Palace in 12th and Southampton in 20th. Considering how close it is at the bottom of the Premier League, there is every chance Everton's point against Spurs could be the difference come May.
Keane told Sky Sports, "At this stage of the season every point is massive. Every contribution could be huge come the end of the season... we know what we have to do and what it takes to get out of it and hopefully we can."
