Sportscene pundits unanimously defended Kilmarnock's Alan Power over claims that Rangers should have been awarded a penalty during the clash at Ibrox.
Antonio Colak got Gio van Bronckhorst’s men off and running six minutes into the second half as he bagged his first goal for the club and finally broke down a battling Killie backline during the Scottish Premiership clash. Returning Alfredo Morelos would round off the win late in the game as the Colombian marked the end of his five months on the sidelines with a goal to see off Derek McInnes' men.
However, there was also loud claims from the home stands for a spot kick as Kilmarnock star Power raced back into the box to defend a Rangers breakaway. Debuting Ridvan Yilmaz 's cross from the left flank deflected off of Joe Wright's heel, before hitting the arm of Power as appeals for a spot kick rang out from the stands.
Referee Kevin Clancy was unfazed by the incident as he waved play on. Both former Ibrox star Richard Foster and James McFadden backed the whistler over the decision, agreeing his arm was in a "natural position."
When asked if the ball hit Power's hand in the box, Foster said: "The ball did his hand in the box, but in my opinion his hand is a perfectly natural position based on the movement he is doing.
"He is slowly jogging into the box. For me there would be no penalty."
McFadden added: "Yeah that is right. His arm is by his side. Even then he is trying to pull his arm out of the way."
