Alan Cumming admits he doesn’t understand the plot of Avengers: Doomsday

  • Alan Cumming has admitted he does not fully understand the plot of the forthcoming Marvel film Avengers: Doomsday , in which he reprises his role as Nightcrawler.
  • The actor, who first played the superhero in 2003's X2: X-Men United , filmed his scenes rapidly using green screens due to hosting commitments on The Traitors US .
  • Cumming revealed he only met co-star Florence Pugh for the first time at the Emmy Awards, despite their characters sharing screen time via body doubles.
  • Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the film features an ensemble cast facing Robert Downey Jr's Doctor Doom, uniting the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men.
  • Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled for release in UK cinemas on 18 December.
