Alan Carr wants to find a better work/life balance and is looking for a "nice Scottish man".
The comedian has been getting open and honest about what he wants from life and the recent personal challenges he's faced on his new Regional Trinket tour.
Although it provided good material for his gigs, the Channel 4 Chatty Man star's split from husband Paul during the coronavirus pandemic meant that everything about his life had changed when he "came out the other end".
And now he's making plans for a more balanced lifestyle and thinks Scotland could hold the key to his heart for any future love interests.
Speaking in an exclusive interview from Inverness with STV's Laura Boyd in this Friday's instalment of What's On Scotland, the comic says: “Life’s given me one of those years. Professionally, it has been amazing but personally, it’s been a bit rubbish. “I’m a grafter, I love working, I love coming up here [to Scotland] . I know there are some comedians who don’t want to go above Watford, but not to come to Scotland is a no-brainer.

“But I’ve got to sort out that work/life balance. Next year, you’ll probably see a bit less of Alan. I’m going to sort myself out. "I think I’m ready for it and, who knows, I might find love. I might find a nice Scottish man. There was a man wading in the rivers [in Inverness] and I like a man in waders…”
News that Alan had split from his husband Paul Drayton after three years of marriage was made public in January. The couple were together for 13 years and made the decision "jointly and amicably".
The pair wed at a lavish event at singer Adele's LA house, which she organised, paid for and officiated over. Allan said the upheaval had an effect on his professional life, as well as personal.
He adds: "I wrote it before Covid. We had a week to go and it was all written and done. It was about me getting married and Adele getting ordained especially to marry me and Paul
“But then, during Covid, the relationship fell apart, and I was divorced when we came out the other end. So it’s probably my most personal [tour] , but it sort of works and it’s quite raw and I go to places that I don’t normally talk about. It’s like therapy really."
Entertainment magazine series What’s On Scotland brings STV presenters Emma Cameron and Laura Boyd together to talk all things movies, music, theatre and telly every Friday night, giving viewers some inspiration for where to go and what to see across Scotland.
Each week, Emma and Laura are joined by some of the biggest names in showbiz, as well as a host of rising stars, to discuss the wealth of entertainment taking place throughout the country in the first summer since Covid restrictions on public gatherings were eased.
What’s On Scotland airs Fridays at 7pm on STV and STV Player
