Alan Carr posts message as fans concerned over star collapsing on stage

Alan Carr says he's 'never felt pain like it'. Celebs and fans flocked to the Chatty Man's social media account to find out just what had happened and ask if he was okay after seeing the comedian needing to use a crutch.

Carr has been playing Glasgow earlier this week as part of his regional Trinket Tour, which comes to Nottingham in November. The rescheduled shows should have taken place in May 2021 but, like many tour dates, were rescheduled due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Taking to Instagram Alan posted a video entitled "Don't worry about little old me!! The show must go on".

In the clip, he explained just what had happened. He said: "Well I'll tell you now because people have been asking. I've been performing up in Glasgow and there's a bit in my routine where I pretend to be Jason Statham... I high kicked and then I got the worst cramp ever. There were shooting pains and I was rolling around the floor and people thought it was part of the act"

He continued: "Then my lovely tour manager poked a crutch through the curtains. I had to finish the show but I've had some ibuprofen... I think I've torn it"

Going on to apologise, he added: "...but sorry I put a very dramatic picture of me with some peas... but I'm fine. I just felt silly rolling around the floor."

But it seems it wasn't as funny as it first seems. He added: "I've never known pain like it".

Fellow stars lined up to wish the personality well. Comedian John Bishop responded to the post: "What a trooper - you are an example to us all".

Former Jungle Queen, Vicky Pattison added: "I love you man", while actress Martin McCutcheon jumped in saying: "Oh bless you. What a trooper! Rest up and take care of yourself tho please!"

Former Countdown whizz Carol Vorderman added: "Oh Al", with Olympian Dame Kelly Holmes saying: "You are the best".

And the celebs weren't short on advice too. TV personality Vanessa Feltz offered: "Worried about you. Should you be checked out by a GP or at A&E just to be sure?". A comment that actress Claire Sweeney agreed with: "You poor thing. Get it checked".

In an update on Instagram, Alan said: "I’m just doing a post because people keep asking (sweetly) if I’m ok and just so you know my torn calf is on the mend it’s still sore and I’m still limping but it could have been a lot worse. Phew! Thanks for all your lovely comments and kind wishes - it really cheered me up."

  • Alan Carr is due to appear at the Royal Concert Hall on Saturday, November 12, 2022
