Al-Nassr set to secure transfer for ex-Cristiano Ronaldo teammate after PSG friendly

On Thursday, Cristiano Ronaldo captained a Saudi All-Star team against Lionel Messi's Paris Saint-Germain side.

PSG won 5-4 after 90 minutes with Messi getting on the scoresheet, but Ronaldo didn't allow himself to be outdone by his long-term rival, scoring a brace and earning the Player of the Match award.

After the game, reports began to emerge that a transfer could occur between PSG and Ronaldo's new club Al-Nassr. Goalkeeper Keylor Navas played alongside the 37-year-old and won multiple Champions Leagues with Ronaldo before moving to the French capital.

Navas enjoyed a few years as PSG's starting 'keeper but since the arrival of Gianluigi Donnarumma, he has been relegated to the substitutes' bench. Al-Nassr have noticed this and look close to completing a move to sign him.

Al-Nassr signed former Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina earlier in the window, the Colombian shot-stopper has been sidelined for six weeks after picking up an injury. With the Saudi Pro League side trying to win silverware and qualify for the Asian Champions League with Ronaldo now at the club, they need reinforcements and Ronaldo's former teammate seems to be their answer.

Marca stated earlier this week that if Navas was to move he would earn around £4m. The Costa Rican only has six months left on his contract as well which means he'd likely be available for a negligible fee.

By adding Ronaldo and Navas to an already stacked squad that includes the likes of Anderson Talisca, Luis Gustavo and Alvaro Fernandez, Al-Nassr will be in good stead for the rest of their campaign.
