NAGPUR: As soon as off-spinner Akshay Wakhare grabbed his 300th wicket in First Class cricket on Friday, the entire Ranji Trophy team took to their Instagram handles to congratulate the senior spinner by sharing a picture of him holding a ball with 300 written on it.
On Friday, Akshay was ruling against Tripura by bowling traditional off-spin and deceived their batters in flight. He grabbed four wickets and became the second Vidarbha bowler to do so. It is learnt that he took this very ball and wrote 300 on it. The first player to achieve the feat was Pritam Gandhe, who has 340 wickets to his name.
