Right-arm medium pacer Akhin Sathar starred with the ball while Abdul Basith hit a timely half-century to help Kerala overcome some anxious moments to prevail over Saurashtra by three wickets in the opening Group ‘A’ fixture of Vijay Hazare Trophy tournament at Alur on Thursday.
Skipper Sanju Samson’s decision to bowl after winning the toss was vindicated by his bowlers as they skittled the opposition out for 185 with Akhin claiming four wickets. But Kerala made heavy weather of their chase before Basith’s 60 helped them overhaul Saurashtra’s target losing seven wickets with 14 balls to spare.
