LUCKNOW: While incumbent Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav is nearly certain to be re-elected as the party chief at the party’s national convention in Lucknow on Thursday, any change in state leadership is also unlikely during the state convention to be held on Wednesday.
Sources said though some names were doing the rounds for the post of the state president, SP leadership has so far shown no inclination of backing anyone else. “Unless there is any last-minute change of plan, any change in state president appears unlikely,” a senior party leader told TOI on Tuesday evening. At present, Naresh Uttam is SP state chief.
