Liverpool find themselves once again needing to bounce back from a poor display as they face Ajax tonight.
Jurgen Klopp’s side were well below-par in losing to Nottingham Forest last time out, ending their three-match winning run and leaving them down in eighth in the Premier League table.
The Reds need just a point against Ajax to reach the Champions League knockout stages though, after getting their European campaign back on track with comfortable victories over Rangers.
Liverpool, second in Group A behind Napoli, have a six-point advantage over Ajax with two games to go, so anything other than a defeat and they will be in the last-16 after Christmas.
It means the Dutch side have no choice but to go for it in Amsterdam, and they can take some confidence from their performance in Anfield when they were only beaten by an 89th-minute winner from Joel Matip.
They face an uphill task to qualify for the knockout stages, after conceding ten goals across their two heavy defeats to Napoli.
