Everton target Mohammed Kudus has broken his silence on his failed move to Goodison Park this summer.
The 22-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Merseyside over the summer, with some reports going as far as saying the Blues were set to sign the player on loan with a view to making the deal permanent. However, the deal never fully materialised, despite rumours in the Netherlands suggesting Kudus was refusing to train in order to force it through.
Ajax refused to part ways with another of their senior players and Kudus remained at the club beyond the transfer deadline. The saga is seemingly all forgotten as he's had a positive start to the new season with seven goals in 10 appearances in all competitions.

Kudus has now addressed the reports and confirmed Everton 's interest in him. "Everton offered me a great opportunity and I wanted to try it," he recalled to Dutch outlet NOS. "No footballer wants to sit on the bench and neither do I.
"Although I understood that not everyone can play all the time, Everton seemed like a good option at the time. It wasn't that I didn't want to train, but I'm human and had a lot to deal with in a very short time. The chapter is now over and I'm still here."
Kudus was on the scoresheet in their 2-1 Eredivisie defeat to AZ Alkmaar over the weekend, while he also netted against Liverpool at Anfield last week in the Champions League. Reports suggest Frank Lampard still holds interest in the Ghana international, but it remains to be seen whether they're priced out of a move further down the line.
Kudus' form in recent weeks will have caught the attention of clubs across Europe and it will be unsurprising if he has more suitors when the window reopens in January or at the end of the season.
