If Manchester United want to sign Antony from Ajax, they will need to dig deeper into their pockets than they first thought.
According to the Mail Online, the Eredivisie champions have raised the asking price to sign the Brazilian winger by £16m. This means that United will now have to reportedly pay £84m should Erik ten Hag want to have the 22-year-old among his attacking options next season.
The news is the latest update in a transfer saga that has had countless twists. Just last week it was reported that Antony's representatives were in Manchester for talks - even if the club can agree a deal for the player, it now appears that the transfer fee may prove to be another stumbling block.

Elsewhere, there may be good news for United as reports have emerged with a positive update regarding their interest in Frenkie de Jong.
Mundo Deportivo report (as per the Daily Express ) that Barcelona manager Xavi has told De Jong that he doesn't feature in his first-team plans heading into the new season. In fact, the report states that there are four midfielders between the Dutchman and a place in Barcelona's starting XI.
It is claimed that Xavi told De Jong that Pedri, Nico Gonzalez, Franck Kessie and Gavi are all above the 25-year-old in the La Liga side's pecking order. There still looks to be a long way to go to get this deal over the line, but this news could help to convince De Jong that a move to United is in his best interests.
