The Aces couldn’t take care of business on the road in Tuesday’s playoff matchup against Caitlin Clark and the Fever, as Clark put together a historic performance to help lift Indiana to a 99–89 win and force Game 3 of their first-round series.
The high-stakes playoff tilt wasn’t without controversy. Clark picked up her first tech of the postseason early in the second quarter but that only appeared to make her play better, and she went off for a team-high 27 points and 15 assists in Indy’s win-or-go-home victory. Later in the game, when the Fever were up by 11 points in the fourth quarter, A’ja Wilson drew an off-ball foul on Sophie Cunningham and then got into a heated exchange with a courtside fan at the baseline.
