Michigan State basketball needed a physical, dominant victory to wash off the bad vibes from the past week, and that’s exactly what we saw on Saturday as the Spartans were able to top Indiana behind some strong play from AJ Hoggard and Malik Hall. MSU finished at home against Indiana 76-61.
Hoggard finished with 14 points, 8 assists and 4 rebounds while Malik Hall, who finished second on the team in minutes played, added 18 points and 6 rebounds, and finally played with some of the fire Izzo has been asking for this season.
MSU was able to keep the turnover differential even in this one, which always bodes well for them on the season. They also forced their way to the free throw line and shot 89-percent from the line on the game while the Hoosiers only shot 58-percent.
For Indiana, Trayce Jackson-Davis led the way with 17 points.
Michigan State will face Penn State next on the road on Tuesday.
