Southwest Airlines have announced an internal investigation will be conducted after a pilot was filmed saying “Let’s Go Brandon,” over a flight intercom.
This took place on the morning of October 29 on a Southwest flight from Houston to Albuquerque, Associated Press reported.
The term refers to the chant “F*** Joe Biden” chant that happened earlier this year during a NASCAR race in Talladega.
A reporter appeared to mishear the chanting and thought that the crowd were saying: “Let’s Go Brandon” and it became an instant viral meme for Trump supporters.
In the TikTok, the pilot told passengers: “We’re heading east at about 107 or 108 mph. Clear visibility, mostly clear skies, about 77 degrees.”

He then added: “Thanks for coming out, flying Southwest Airlines, welcome home and let’s go Brandon.”
In a statement posted to their Twitter account, the airline said:
“Southwest does not condone Employees sharing their personal political opinions while on the job serving our customers, and one employee’s individual perspective should not be interpreted as the viewpoint of Southwest and its collective 54,000 employees.”

It added: “Southwest is conducting an internal investigation into the recently reported event and will address the situation directly with any employee involved while continuing to remind all employees that public expression of personal opinions while on duty is unacceptable.
“Southwest does not tolerate any behaviour that encouraged divisiveness, as it does not reflect the Southwest Hospitality and inclusiveness for which we are known and strive to provide each day on every flight.
Elsewhere, a federal judge recently rejected an attempt by pilots to block Southwest Airlines from imposing a Covid-19 vaccine mandate, CBS reported.
Last month, the airline was forced to cancel thousands of flights which was thought to be due to pilots protesting against a Covid-19 vaccinate mandate president Joe Biden’s is set to impose for all federal contractors.
