Airdrie striker Gabby McGill has been voted cinch SPFL League One Player of the Month for March.
The English striker netted an impressive eight goals during the month as the Diamonds went on a scoring spree.
McGill, 22, notched his first goal in March in a 3-2 defeat at Queen of the South, but he bagged a hat-trick in a 6-1 win over Kelty Hearts, and braces in each of the 7-0 demolition of Peterhead and 5-1 rout at Clyde to round off the month.
All of that has pushed Rhys McCabe’s side up to third in League one, and McGill said: “It has been a good month and it’s nice from a personal point of view to get the award.
“It ties in with three really good victories as well, so happy days!
“This year is the most confident I’ve felt on the pitch, and recently the goals have started to flow as well – hopefully that can continue.”
Airdrie, who host Montrose on Saturday, are just four points behind second-placed Falkirk, who are at home to leaders Dunfermline this weekend.
