Airdrie have announced a new playing surface at their now officially titled Excelsior Stadium.
The Diamonds have been using an artificial surface in recent seasons and the League One club follow Premiership sides in installing a Greenfield MX Elite woven surface.
They are also on the lookout for a new stadium sponsor as their agreement with Penny Cars comes to a close.
It had been titled the 'Penny Cars Stadium' but now reverts back to Excelsior until a new sponsor is found.
It's been a tough month for the Diamonds, after they lost narrowly in the Championship play-off final for the second year running, this time against Queen's Park.
Manager Ian Murray is also expected to land the vacant boss role at Raith Rovers in the second tier, with a new dawn seemingly beckoning in North Lanarkshire.
Airdrie said in a club statement: "We are delighted to announce that work has begun on the installation of a new state-of-the-art playing surface at the Excelsior Stadium.
"The main pitch playing surface is being replaced, a project which will take five to six weeks to complete.
"The installation of the Greenfield MX Elite woven surface, favoured by Premiership and top European clubs, is a vital part of our investment programme in upgrading and maintaining our facilities.
"Meanwhile our stadium-naming sponsorship with Penny Cars has come to an end, and the stadium name officially reverts to Excelsior Stadium.
"We are in discussion with other possible sponsors regarding the stadium naming rights. We would like to extend our thanks to Penny Cars for their sponsorship and support."
