Here's an offer you can't refuse...the Staten Island mansion that featured in the Oscar-winning film The Godfather is being made available to rent on Airbnb for the month of August.
With the 50th anniversary of the Francis Ford Coppola movie about the Mafia in New York being celebrated this year, Airbnb is offering up to five guests the opportunity to stay at the mansion whose exterior is depicted in the film that included a huge host of Hollywood stars led by Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, James Caan and Robert Duvall. It was the backdrop to the opening scene of Connie Corleone’s wedding reception and where the Don died later in the film.
Guests will have private access to the 6,248 sq ft mansion, built in 1930, which features plenty of summertime activities and amenities including a large saltwater pool, a basement pub, games room, and a gym. The property has five bedrooms and seven bathrooms, with Airbnb saying it is most suitable for a party of two adults and three children.
Booking for the 30-night stay opens on Wednesday July 27 at 6pm. Reports say that it will be available for just $50 per night.
