Air France has closed all operations in Mali, underlining how air links in the Sahel have been reshaped by strained ties between France and military-led governments, airspace closures, suspended services and recent security concerns around Bamako.

Air France is permanently closing its local office in Mali, where the French airline has not operated since 2023 because of the geopolitical situation across the Sahel.
