A girl has been taken to hospital after being hit by a car near Arnold. The child was injured in Nottingham Road, Daybrook, at around 3.45pm on Wednesday, October 5.

An air ambulance was called to the scene, as well as a crewed ambulance which took the girl to Queen's Medical Centre. Her injuries are not currently believed to be life-altering or life-threatening.

Macauley Jordan, who works at Out of Town barbers, next to where the incident happened, witnessed the aftermath. "I just came out, there were coppers everywhere and she was lying flat in the road," the 26-year-old recalled.
