Aimen stars in Blasters' win

Mohammed Aimen was the star of the show as he scored the opening goal and assisted in two others, leading Kerala Blasters to a 3-1 victory over Hyderabad FC in their final league match of ISL-10 in Hyderabad on Friday.

Aimen opened the scoring in the 34th minute while Daisuke Sakai (51) and Nihal Sudeesh (81) netted the other two goals for the visitors. This victory secured the Blasters fifth place in the ISL standings.

Blasters took the lead against the run of play. Hormipam delivered a beautiful cross from the right, which Aimen headed into the net, outjumping Hyderabad defender Sajad Parray in an aerial duel.

Aimen played a role in the Blasters' second goal six minutes into the second half. He sent a lovely ball through to Saurav Mandal, who sprinted down the line and then passed it back into the box to Sakai, who easily tapped the ball into the net. Aimen had a hand in Blasters' third goal.

After Hyderabad goalkeeper Laxmikant Kattimani saved Nihal Sudheesh's initial shot, the ball landed in front of Aimen. He quickly passed it to Nihal, who finished cleanly, making it 3-0. With just minutes remaining until the final whistle, Joao Victor scored a consolation goal for Hyderabad in the 88th minute.
