NEW DELHI: The All India Football Federation (AIFF) on Tuesday took decisive action by suspending Deepak Sharma, an executive committee member, until further notice. This action comes in response to allegations of his involvement in the physical assault of two women players in Goa. The incident occurred two days after the AIFF initially opted to hold off on suspension.
The players, representing Khad FC from Himachal Pradesh in the Indian Women's Football League (IWL) second division, reported that Sharma, who owns the club, forcefully entered their room and assaulted them on the night of March 28.
