Stocks plummeted on Thursday amid rising geopolitical tensions and renewed concerns about AI-related spending.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average edged up 0.02%. But the S&P 500 dropped 1.21% and the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite plunged 2.60%. The former had its worst day since late July and the latter since June 23.
