The 2024 Carolina Panthers are about to become the most improbable Super Bowl champion of all-time, at least according to Grok. Yes, Grok.
Grok is an artificial intelligence chatbot developed by x.AI Corp., a startup company of Twitter/X owner Elon Musk. Currently under beta testing, the technology is designed to “answer almost anything” with “a bit of wit” and “a rebellious streak.”
Um, sure.
Anyway, the folks over at The 33rd Team just asked Grok to forecast the result of Super Bowl LIX—which will be held at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, La. on Feb. 9, 2025. And, uh, its answer was quite the doozy . . .
We asked @grok to predict the outcome of Super Bowl LIX 😅

Well, that’s one heck of a prediction.
For starters, the Panthers just turned in the worst record in the entire league this past season. Their two-win campaign featured an in-season firing at the head-coaching position, a particularly rough first year for No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young and perhaps the most feeble offense in franchise history.
So not only would they have to rise from those depths to prove Grok correct, but they’d also have to defeat the Kansas City Chiefs—who have collected three of the last five Lombardi Trophies—to do so.
Oh, and they’d have to do all of that under a first-year head coach.
Yeah, maybe it’s best Grok remains under beta testing.
