Musician uses AI to make new album as Parkinson’s affects ability to play guitar

London-based singer-songwriter Samuel Smith has embraced artificial intelligence to continue his musical career, after Parkinson's disease significantly impacted his ability to play the guitar. Smith, who received his diagnosis for the progressive neurological disorder in 2020, recently released his second album, The Art of Letting Go.

For "Horizon," an instrumental track on the new album, Smith utilized AI music generation platforms to create demo arrangements. These digital sketches were essential for conveying his artistic vision to the musicians who ultimately recorded the song.
