AI company CEO pays $1.7 million a year so employees can live in one of America's most expensive neighbourhoods

An artificial intelligence start-up is making headlines for an employee benefit rarely seen in the corporate world. New York-based AI sales software company Rilla spends around $1.7 million every year on housing stipends, helping employees live near its headquarters in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, one of America's most expensive neighbourhoods. The initiative is part of CEO Sebastian Jimenez's strategy to reduce commuting time and improve productivity at a company where employees typically work 12-hour days, six days a week. Alongside housing support, Rilla also provides free meals, wellness facilities and other benefits aimed at helping staff perform at their best.
