AHMEDABAD: An unidentified woman driver in her 30s rammed her car into a scooter near Management Enclave in Vastrapur, knocking the rider down.
The accident occurred on Tuesday morning. While attempting to flee, she also hit a loading rickshaw, but a dislodged manhole cover forced her to abandon the car at the spot. She ran away after being mobbed. The scooterist, Babu Shyani, 63, a resident of Bapunagar, filed an FIR with A Division traffic police.
He said that the woman was driving on the wrong side of the road and did not stop her car even after it had hit his scooter. The FIR stated that her car hit a loading rickshaw as she attempted to flee, before it stopped after hitting a manhole cover jutting out of the road. Shyani, who fractured his right leg in the accident, called up his son Vishal who took him to a private hospital.
The FIR stated that the woman's family members also visited the accident spot to check the condition of her vehicle.
Inspector NH Jadeja of A division traffic police said that a case has been registered against the woman for rash driving and causing injuries. She remains unidentified, he added.
