Agency and consultancy unite to aid SME green ambition as E-Factor bolsters its credentials

Two northern Lincolnshire businesses have entered into a strategic partnership to help regional SMEs reach their full, green, potential as a business support organsiation adds to its advisory armoury in the same sphere.

Communications and marketing agency Knapton Wright and strategy and business development specialist GA Business Services Ltd will work together to help clients make real change.

Together they boast more than 40 years of cross-industry experience, and are excited to be uniting in the fields of renewables, clean energy, and sustainable construction. The aim is for those engaging with the firms led by Alex Wright and Graham Allen to grow, win them the right work and ensure they hire the right people, while improving their sales functions and marketing communications.

Mr Wright, managing director at Knapton Wright, said: “We couldn’t think of a better business to buddy up with than Graham Allen’s. Working across diverse industries including renewables, construction, utilities and housing, Graham’s experience and sector knowledge is second-to-none.

“Whether you’re developing a strategy, looking to grow your business, or changing the way your organisation runs entirely, he will ensure your objectives are met swiftly and effectively when it comes to providing outsourced sales development. By combining our skills, we can bring the benefits of outsourced expertise to businesses that have the appetite for growth but not necessarily the internal resource to deliver sales and marketing excellence to drive that growth.”

Local businesses are being invited to an open virtual ‘discovery session’ to find out more about the collaboration, taking place from 10am on May 19.

Mr Allen, director at GA Business Services Ltd, said: “I’ve spent many years working in main contracting with industry leaders such as Balfour Beatty and Kier and now support SMEs around the £3 million to £10 million turnover mark with limited headcount, through to organisations at the top end of the SME scale that simply need to unlock ways to accelerate growth through winning more of the right work.

“When you put that alongside Alex’s time spent working with Facebook UK and subsequently performance-led marketing agencies, you can see why we’re excited to launch this partnership and help drive northern Lincolnshire’s ‘green’ businesses forward.”

It comes as business organisation E-Factor extends its decarbonisation support for local businesses with the introduction of Dr Vicky Dunn to the advisor team. She will act as a a low carbon and business sustainability technical advisor for the business support organisation.

Having worked for the last 14 months on the unique Smarter Energy NEL partnership between E-Factor, North East Lincolnshire Council and Grimsby Community Energy, for whom she is a director, she is keen to continue to maintain the high-level of business advice required by theSME community to make well informed decisions about investing in ways to lower their carbon footprint and their burgeoning energy costs.

Since launch Smarter Energy NEL has worked with 121 businesses, delivering 52 grants totalling £112,000 while helping business save an average of 7.2 per cent in carbon outputs, with significant energy savings.

Tim Maddinson, business support and advice manager for E-Factor, said: "With such emphasis on the lowering of carbon outputs at a time when energy costs have increased dramatically, it has been extremely rewarding to work with the Smarter Energy NEL partnership. With Vicky now joining the advisor team, E-Factor are committed to providing a vital service to our local business community to ensure they have the correct facts and advice as they need it.”
