The New South Wales police commissioner, Karen Webb, said the investigation into a caravan found in Dural allegedly containing explosives and a list of Jewish targets was compromised by leaks to a Sydney media outlet.

Anthony Albanese said in response to the discovery that it was “not a time … to make political points” after Peter Dutton earlier rejected suggestions he was politicising the recent spate of antisemitic incidents. Asio has decided against raising the nation’s terror threat level, which remains at “probable”.
