After just four snaps under center on Monday night against the Buffalo Bills, New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is reportedly done for the season.
Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the legendary signal-caller suffered a torn Achilles, which was confirmed by an MRI on Tuesday. That brings an abrupt end to his 2023 season and leaves his future with the Jets up in the air.
Buy Patriots TicketsFrom a New England Patriots perspective, Rodgers joining the Jets solidified the fact that the AFC East division was the best in football. The Jets are a talented football team with an elite defense, and in some eyes, the addition of Rodgers made them a Super Bowl contender.
Things seem a bit more open now with the Patriots slated to face the Miami Dolphins in Week 2, before traveling to the Meadowlands for a game against the Jets in Week 3.
