Indian Railways has connected Rowghat in Chhattisgarh to the national rail network for the first time since Independence, marking a major step in improving transport links to the state's remote areas. The Tadoki-Rowghat broad-gauge railway line was inaugurated on Tuesday, alongside the Abhanpur-Kurud line, with two new passenger train services also flagged off. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai attended the inauguration programme, while Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw joined through video conferencing.
