A representative of Egyptian forward Mohamed 'Afsha' Magdy has claimed that Celtic have made contact over a potential move to the Scottish champions.
Ange Postecoglou has got to work quickly ahead of the transfer window with both Alistair Johnston and Yuki Kobayashi agreeing a move to Celtic Park on January 1, with Record Sport understanding a striker is next on the Parkhead bosses winter wishlist. Record Sport exclusively revealed earlier this week Giorgos Giakoumakis could be heading for exit after contract negotiations broke down, and the Al Ahly frontman is reportedly being considered as a replacement.
The 26-year-old has previously been tipped with a move to Celtic but a deal has failed to get off the ground, but representatives Magdy - who goes by his nickname Afsha - claim the Parkhead powerbrokers have reached out. Maher Nawfal, Afsha’s representative, told Football Scotland : “There has been interest from Celtic but we will take time to consider what is best for Afsha before a decision is made.”
The versatile attacker has been a key figure for the Egyptian side who sit at the summer of their top flight. Since joining Al Ahly in 2019 he has helped them claim seven trophies.
