‘Africa changed my life’: IShowSpeed reflects after 30-day continent tour

After wrapping up his IRL streaming tour across 20 African countries in a span of one month, IShowSpeed has described the tour experience as transformative in his latest YouTube video.

“Africa changed my life. Africa tour really opened up my eyes into a whole another diameter. It made me take more responsibility on my tour, as I look at my tour in a different way,” IShowSpeed said as a post-stream reflection, where he spoke candidly about the impact the journey had on him, pointing to the warmth of the crowds, the scale of support, and the cultural experiences that left a lasting impression.

The star steamer spent 30 days traveling across Africa, broadcasting live from bustling city centers, local markets, playing street soccer, and hosting fan meetups. His tour had multiple highlights, especially when he raced a Cheetah to show the world who is really the fastest in the world. The tour drew massive online viewership, with clips circulating widely across social media as thousands gathered in person to catch a glimpse of the streamer during his stops.

His first stop on the African continent was Angola, and he ended the tour with a visit to Namibia, showing local culture at every step of his way. Throughout the trip, IShowSpeed leaned into his trademark high-energy content, but he also set milestones along the way. While in Egypt, he became the first content creator to livestream from inside the Great Pyramid of Giza.

While touring in Nigeria, his YouTube channel surpassed 50 million subscribers as he celebrated his 21st birthday. Following his visit to Ghana, it was announced that he had been granted Ghanaian citizenship.

The tour marked one of his most ambitious IRL projects to date. Unlike studio-based broadcasts, the month-long run required daily on-the-ground streaming, coordination with local teams, and navigating unpredictable public settings. Despite the logistical hurdles, the streams consistently pulled strong live numbers, underlining his global reach.

Fans across the continent welcomed him in large numbers, often chanting his name and escorting him through city streets. Several streams showed him visibly overwhelmed by the turnout, at times pausing to take in the moment as crowds filled entire blocks.

His Africa run reflects a growing trend of creators stepping beyond traditional streaming setups and into global IRL tours. For IShowSpeed, however, the journey seemed to carry deeper personal significance beyond viewership and metrics, given his African heritage.

Now that he’s back from the tour, IShowStream has already planned a marathon of Telltale’s The Walking Dead series for his fans, starting March 6, 2026.
