The Medals have been handed out and the Cup is Adelaide’s. Today they cemented themselves as the greatest women’s team we have seen. They were tougher, bigger, swifter and better organised down back. Melbourne lost no admirers, and were still well in the contest late into the final term. But the Crows held their nerve and sealed it with a late goal to Danielle Ponter, a menacing presence all afternoon. It was a roller coaster AFLW season, with Covid scares, extreme weather, injuries and challenges galore. But this was a cracking Grand Final, with a worthy Premier. Thanks for all your messages, thank you Erin Phillips and Daisy Pearce, and congratulations Adelaide.
