The AFL trade period has ended with a flurry of activity, as some of the biggest deals of the window go through with just minutes to spare.
Josh Dunkley's trade from the Bulldogs to Brisbane was belatedly completed, while a three-way deal saw Ollie Henry make it to Geelong, Tom Mitchell move to Collingwood and Cooper Stephens head to Hawthorn.
Fremantle were busy too, reluctantly sending Rory Lobb to the Bulldogs and Lloyd Meek to Hawthorn, but with Jaeger O'Meara joining the Dockers.

That's it! Trade period is over!
Well that was fun, wasn't it? After a full day of effectively nothing, we had a sudden flurry of almost everything. I guess we should be used to that by now.
On the whole though, that was a pretty seismic trade period. It's not often there are that many deals done, that many high draft picks traded, that many quality players moved. It'll take years to be able to fully judge it, but the 2022 trade period feels like one of great significance.
Now we head to the draft! That's more than a month away though, so we can all take a deep breath and recover for a while. Until then, thanks for your company over the past couple of days. See you next time.

The trades that never were
That's it! Those are the last of the done deals, all of which came through in a mad rush in the final minutes, some of which haven't technically been confirmed by the clubs or league yet.
These are the deals that didn't get done:
- Esava Ratugolea from Geelong to Port Adelaide
- Brayden Fiorini from Gold Coast to Collingwood
- Hunter Clark from St Kilda to North Melbourne
- Jeremy Sharp from Gold Coast to Fremantle

Lloyd Meek has been traded to Hawthorn
Meek gets the move he was after and the Hawks pick up a promising young ruck. Hard to begrudge Meek the move considering the Jackson-Darcy duo that Freo will be rolling out next season.
As expected, this was linked to the Jaeger O'Meara deal in the end.
- Hawthorn get: Lloyd Meek, future second-round pick
- Fremantle get: Jaeger O'Meara, future fourth-round pick

Jaeger O'Meara has been traded to Fremantle
The Dockers have been heavily active for the last two weeks, and have added another experienced midfielder to their pack. The Hawks appear to be clearing the decks for Sam Mitchell's rebuild, and a flag-hunting Freo has moved swiftly to pick O'Meara up. Lloyd Meek was involved in the deal, as we thought was likely.
- Fremantle get: Jaeger O'Meara, future fourth-round pick
- Hawthorn get: Lloyd Meek, future second-round pick
It has been suggested that the Hawks will be picking up a fair portion of O'Meara's salary too, but we wait for confirmation of the finer details of that.

Rory Lobb has been traded to the Bulldogs
Fremantle relent at the very end. Lobb made his intentions clear at the beginning of the trade period, but the Dockers were steadfast in their refusal to deal. In the end, their own interest in other players probably prompted them to rethink and a deal has been struck with the Dogs.
- Bulldogs get: Rory Lobb
- Fremantle get: Pick 30, future second-round pick
Everyone goes home (relatively) happy.

Josh Dunkley has been traded to Brisbane
The Lions have got their man at last. This one has dragged for almost the entire trade period, but the Lions and Bulldogs have finally struck a deal in the final hour. Here's how the deal shakes out:
- Brisbane get: Josh Dunkley, future third-round pick, future fourth-round pick (tied to Melbourne)
- Bulldogs get: Pick 21, future first-round pick, future second-round pick, future fourth-round pick (tied to Geelong)
A heavy price for Brisbane to pay, but he is the one they wanted. They are firmly in premiership contention, and this is a move that underlines that. What a midfield they will be running out with next season.

Cooper Stephens has been traded to Hawthorn
He's the final piece of the three-way trade. Which, again, looks like this:
- Geelong get: Ollie Henry
- Collingwood get: Tom Mitchell, pick 25
- Hawthorn get: Cooper Stephens, pick 41, pick 50

Tom Mitchell has been traded to Collingwood
The Pies have secured the 2018 Brownlow Medallist. Mitchell's career has taken some difficult turns since that career year, and he will be hoping a move to this bright young Collingwood team will provide a late-career spark.
Again, this has all gone down as part of a three-way deal involving Henry and Stephens which looks like this
- Geelong get: Ollie Henry
- Collingwood get: Tom Mitchell, pick 25
- Hawthorn get: Cooper Stephens, pick 41, pick 50

Ollie Henry has been traded to Geelong
Well there you go, the Cats get their man! It looked like this one was destined for a frosty post-script, potentially with Henry heading to the draft, but at the last minute a deal has been struck.
And it's a spicy three-way deal that also sees Tom Mitchell and Cooper Stephens get moves. This is how it looks:
- Geelong get: Ollie Henry
- Collingwood get: Tom Mitchell, pick 25
- Hawthorn get: Cooper Stephens, pick 41, pick 50
This has not been an easy deal to strike, but at the end of the day the Pies have opted against taking a stand for principle's sake and have taken the deal on offer.

Are you ready for all the trades?
Because here they come...
EDIT: Very soon, promise.

That's it! Trade period has ended! But...
There may well have been some deals completed before the buzzer that are going through the system and may still be confirmed. You can bet there will be plenty that didn't though, so let's see how the dust settles now.

Hunter Clark will stay at St Kilda
"We're comfortable that it's over," says manager Paul Connors.
Scratch that one off the list.

Only 30 minutes to go
A lot of nervous waiting going on right now. Hard to see how some of these deals get done from here.

Lachie Hunter has been traded to Melbourne
It's done! The Dees have picked up the lively midfielder on the cheap from the Bulldogs.
- Melbourne get: Lachie Hunter
- Bulldogs get: Future third-round selection
By Dean Bilton
45 minutes to go...
And still nothing else confirmed.
But the rumblings are positive around the deals for Hunter and Dunkley, with Melbourne and Brisbane seemingly likely to get those over the line.
For all the others, time to get a wriggle on.

One hour to go
And there is A LOT still to go down. True to form, it's all coming down to the wire.

Esava Ratugolea deal off?
Seems like Port Adelaide's hopes of landing the Geelong big man are fading. Port list boss Chris Davies was speaking a little earlier:
"It hasn't really progressed, so obviously the longer it goes on the less likely it is than likely, but we're still hopeful.
"We've put what we have to Geelong and they've got a little bit of time to work out whether they want it or not. He said he wanted to come to Port Adelaide. Geelong in fairness to them, hold the whip hand here.
"I hope that 33 is enough, we don't have too much else. We've got pick 60. There's a little bit of wriggle room but 33 is the thing on the table now, we don't have too much else to give."

The deals still up in the air
With about 100 minutes left in the trade period, here's a snapshot everything still yet to be settled:
- Josh Dunkley from the Bulldogs to Brisbane (the negotiations continue)
- Ollie Henry from Collingwood to Geelong (all quiet on this one)
- Tom Mitchell from Hawthorn to Collingwood (seems likely it will go through at some point, and could unlock the Meek deal?)
- Rory Lobb from Fremantle to the Bulldogs (could unlock the O'Meara deal?)
- Lloyd Meek from Fremantle to Hawthorn (or maybe could this be tied into an O'Meara deal?)
- Esava Ratugolea from Geelong to Port Adelaide (Port offered pick 33, no movement there yet)
- Brayden Fiorini from Gold Coast to Collingwood (looks very unlikely)
- Jaeger O'Meara from Hawthorn to GWS/Fremantle (Dockers look most likely)
- Lachie Hunter from Western Bulldogs to Melbourne (apparently a '50-50 chance', according to Hunter's agent)
- Hunter Clark from St Kilda to North Melbourne (this one looks like it's come back to life late, but may still be a long shot)
